I have a small buisness, we produce products for whole sale Markets. This time of year I buy materials construct a Product and sell daily to a Customer. Without devolving my companies name and using figures that represent normal citizens level..... I make about 35 k a year.
Anyway this is the delima I buy for 2.50 per unit I sell for 5.00 a unit my overhead is 22 cents a unit. I bbuild 2000 units seasonally in 5 weeks.... Should I compound expenses by adding to this I. A production team, given that minimum wage is 22.00 an hour with payroll and accounting overhead.

Well you have to evaluate the cost of what you are wanting to do relative to the benefit of doing it. So if you can get the production cost down MORE than the cost to get it down then you can consider the possibility.

What it is I engage in a series of seasonal businesses. Wreath production is over next will be Maple syrup production. Then fiddleheads gathering cleaning and marketing then berries blue berry and black berry gathered in the wild. Goes back into wreath production. Mean while I work as a carpenter or for a staffing agency as needed. The entirety of all of it I am no longer able to produce products at the level I did in the 1990_2000's the material cost have risen 300 percent the cost per unit hence has risen 320 percent the price per unit has gone up 31 percent. Instead of making 5000 and grossing 3300 now I gross more and end up with 50 percent less.
This season I made 1200 producing 600 wreaths. Syrup is different due to the direct result of the weather. Seems i am ready just to take this next year and work as a carpenter less hours a heck of lot less work and frustration and be able to make more money.... or find a better market for my products.
