Been reading a lot about the differences between franchising and licensing, and the more I read the more scared I get about licensing. Are the aspects of licensing scrutnized to the t?
The 3 aspects of a franchise?
1. Trademark (Common Name). 2. Fee of $500 or more within six months of sale. 3. Significant control/assistance.
Its very vague about 2 and 3. Some say just acquire the franchise fee after the 6th month period and you're not a franchise. Seems kinda like loophole (sp), and could get you into trouble quick. And the 3rd kinda insinuates that you can even obtain an operations manuel for the licensor. IS that correct??
Anybody have experience with franchising/licensing? Thanks.
