when is it going to explode??? if ever?? iv heared in for years gold at 5k or more, will we see the dollar collapse anytime soon???

Not sure, but I think they will both eventually go up when there's the inevitable "market correction."

If anyone here has the best prediction, it's WallStreetCappers. The man seems to know what he's talking about.

To move gold or silver you need one main thing..

Inflation!

Gold is an inflation hedge, silver is not at all but is the ugly friend who tails along and benefits due to perceived similarities and cheap relative price.

Without inflation or some huge financial shock I dont see how gold moves outside its current trading range.

I would not touch gold over 1k and if I were to consider silver (doubtful ever) it would be under 10.

Maybe it happens, maybe not...but I do not see inflation anywhere and if there ever is inflation then central banks will squash it.

In order to have inflation you need demand, if we had real demand then companies would be hiring real jobs..I dont see demand or inflation enough to warrant metals moving much.

How will central banks squash the inflation??? Raise interest rates while the nation is 20 trillion in debt???

They will raise rates and reduce liquidity which will squash inflation.

Central banks do not want deflation nor inflation...they want controlled, moderated growth.

Don't forget War, or another country deciding to leave the EU. It won't happen anytime soon but they are possible drivers.

^ I don't think the latter of the two is happening anytime soon. In fact, Europe is seen as a driver of global growth, recently.

War? Unless, something crazy happens in NK sometime soon..

On a final note, there is a lot of complacency in the market, so it will not take much to uproot that confidence , when asset values are rich... This is an important note..

Is there a big correlation between the Price of oil and Precious Metals and Mining stocks?

I'm curious to read to see your thoughts about this.

Gold @ 1,300 an ounce today, up 5.77% since this thread was created

Silver @ 17.20 an ounce, up 8.17%

The past year or so, I've been really into these precious metals and mining stocks. They have done me well.

Not directly to me..

I think the anticipation of future price move does move miners, so if people THINK that gold will go higher and even if it hasnt yet, they will anticipate and buy...and sell inversely.

Oil and miners, not really except oil can be an inflationary cause/effect for metals of course.

I believe we will see gold spike huge in coming couple of years, once all those paper contracts start fleeing into physical gold you will see gold price at 5-10k $ an ounce if not more.

should of sold gold when it was at it high several years ago...wont go anywhere for next 5 to 10 years,,,same thing with silver ,,was at a high several years ago also,,,wont see that again for 5 to 10 years also

Good article/interview currently at the top of Steve Quayle' web site with a guy named Greyerz. He gives a good explanation on gold bought on paper without actually having physical ownership. He is of the firm belief that the world needs a reset.
