I think BABA is a huge mistake. Almost all Chinese Companies do the same thing, skim off the top. They never let investors get the money, the gov't will first, which by the way, is the real owner.
ALI - PAY is not included in the IPO and the owners / gov't own that part of it which is substantial... THis IPO was more for the underwriters to make a big deal and steal retail dollars. "which, you are retail"
They have a huge base 600M users, that is a lot. But the up 38% on opening day does not include you, it only include the owners at the beginiing, chinesse and underwriters. They are selling to you to make a one day profit of 38%
Back to the chinesse, if there is a hint of a problem, it gets cut in half, look to Russia for your example. I think OUR gov't actually waited to bomb Syria from the federal reserves advice on this IPO and other fundementals. You can bet, at the top, everything is manipulated.... EVERYTHING !
If you buy it, take profit when you can and I hope alibaba is different. There r some that are doing well, so I can't say all chinesse control companies are doing this..

YHOO is a rudderless company that has had no path forward under Melissa Meyer. Google and Facebook have been eating their lunch in advertising revenue ; note, YHOO has had "declining" ad revenue last few years... Not good when your core business, and its top line, is declining. People are ditching the company, now that they can buy BABA on the open market.
Frankly , I don't like YHOO or BABA , and know little about Mannkind.
