I opened my new FanDuel account on Monday, February 6th and made one deposit using the Interac method. The deposit was successful and I placed a four-team parlay wager, which concluded with the final leg of the parlay on Tuesday evening. The parlay came in a winner. That was the only transaction I made in my new account.
On Tuesday afternoon, I attempted to log into my account and discovered it was "locked".
I contacted support via live chat and was informed that the Accounts department was reviewing my account because there was some unusual activity. It would, they told me, take 24-48 to review my account and if any documents were required, the Accounts team would contact me by email.
The time frame passed and as of today, more than three days later, my account is still locked with my winnings in the account.
I've spoken to a number of live chat agents at FanDuel and receive the same response each and every time: That the Accounts team is reviewing my account because of some unusual activity and they will contact me shortly by email. Still no contact from the Accounts team.
(1) How long can it take to review one's account and (2) how can they maintain that there has been unusual activity when I only made one deposit and one wager todate?
Is this book legit and has anyone else experienced this same scenario with FanDuel?
Thanks.

It's now Sunday and it's been five days since my FanDuel account was locked with $8500+ in the account balance. Those funds stem from one deposit of $3000, when I opened the account on Monday, and one wager involving a four-team parlay, which was made on Monday using the entire deposit and concluded with a win on Tuesday evening. Still no word from FanDuel regarding the re-opening of my account.

After using my same bank account for over a year for deposits and withdrawals, they claimed they could no longer access it. I checked with my bank and was told there was no problem on their end. I made numerous attempts to have FanDuel correct the problem and never got a response. They¡¯re the worst. I use the same bank account currently with various sportsbooks and they have no problems.

I also see that Covers has removed each of the threads I posted in the various forums as it pertains to my recent and ongoing negative experience with FanDuel. The title of the thread was "Unlike Me, Be Smart - Avoid FanDuel".
I guess Covers and Fanduel are in cahoots with one another.
Covers is obviously not for the people, which is also good to know.
Lastly, upon my most recent contact with FanDuel support (this time by email) on Super Bowl Sunday, the female agent informed me that each time I contact support regarding my case, it puts a delay on the "so-called" account review.
In other words, don't contact them.

Great stuff and good to know OneWayOut.

Try this number: (646)930-0860. I had it listed in my contacts as a FanDuel #. Maybe you¡¯ll get lucky and get through to someone. For that kind of cash, it¡¯s worth a shot.

Thanks for that information OneWayOut and it is greatly appreciated. Interestingly enough, I described and posted my negative experience on a number of other sports forums and received a response from someone in the U.S. who had an identical experience with FanDuel. After having his account locked (with winnings), he received the runaround from FanDuel support. He contacted the gaming board in his U.S. state and they managed to get his funds released.
He suggested I do the same thing with the gaming board here in the province (Ontario) in which I reside. I submitted a complaint to the Ontario gaming board about thirty minutes ago and will wait to hear back from them. I'm hoping they can step in and have my funds released.
I tried the phone number you provided and continuously get a busy signal.

I was going to suggest that also, but I didn’t know how it worked in Canada. BOL. That continuous busy signal is par for the course with FanDuel. Customer service is non-existent.

Upon contacting the gaming board today, I was instructed to send a formal complaint email to Fanduel and request a formal complaint number. They have 5 days to respond and if, after 5 days, they don't respond, send them a second formal complaint by email. It could, I was informed, take up to 90 days for them to resolve the issue.
If, after sending the second formal complaint email, I don't receive a response from Fanduel, contact the gaming board again. Also if the issue is not resolved after 90 days, contact the gaming board once again.
The gaming board added that 80% of cases are of this nature and that he has had numerous complaints related to Fanduel. He concluded by saying issues are usually resolved well before the 90 day period.
Thanks once again for your help, comments and advice. It is greatly appreciated.

Within an hour of sending my "formal complaint" to Fanduel, the Accounts team reached out to me by email and requested some documents. Upon forwarding them immediately, my Fanduel account has been reactivated.
I want to thank everyone for their input and advice as it was related to my issue.

That's great Bud! I just came to check out if you had gotten things straightened out with them.
You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.

Withdraw your balance and open an account elsewhere or you¡¯ll continue to have issues with them. There¡¯s too much competition in this market to put up with that aggravation.

I made a bet last night on the warriors pelicans game and won 150 dollars and this morning they locked my account for the same reason you were talking about

I'm having a little trouble pulling out about 2k. I've the account for 3 years and use it on and off.
I turned $50 in free bets into 500 at the start of the 2024 football season. They also sat on the money for quite some time, maybe 24 hours? I'm surprised it doesn't get called out more often with the amount of money they're putting into TV ads and whatnot.
