Starting QB Eli Holstein and starting RB Desmond Reid missed the finale due to injuries. Starting LT Branson Taylor hasn’t played since Week 7. Narduzzi said they should be healthier for the bowl game than they were in the regular-season finale and expects 90%-plus of his seniors to play unlike the 2022 Sun Bowl.

He confirmed Reid would be ready to go but wasn't positive on Holstein, although he sounded a bit optimistic. With Yarnell in the portal, the Panthers would turn to redshirt freshman David Lynch if Holstein isn't healthy enough".
