UGA¡¯s offensive strength (run game) is our defensive strength (front 7). UGA¡¯s passing game should be decent, but no better than our secondary¡ª and that assumes Mason has time. (So #1 + #2 means I don¡¯t see UGA putting up big numbers.) UGA¡¯s D is in it¡¯s first game under a new DC so their D won¡¯t be playing up to their full potential with their full bag of tricks. (That should help mitigate Clemson breaking in a new QB.) In Stout¡¯s limited action, he¡¯s always been cool as a cucumber. Granted it was mostly mop-up. But remember when he had to suddenly replace Boyd vs BC? Stout is plenty accurate and (unlike Boyd) seems to make good decisions¡ª and perhaps more importantly (if the OL can¡¯t pass-block) quick decisions. Clemson¡¯s running game will probably not be very successful but maybe just enough to keep UGA honest. Clemson¡¯s WRs are probably better than UGA¡¯s secondary, and (unlike DB) WR isn¡¯t a position that demands a lot of experience, so I think Clemson¡¯s passing game will be successful.
