The sun's corona is giving off a burst of energy last week is due to.impact the earth during this weekend.
Although these solar phenomena can light the skies with spectacular auroras, they can also damage batteries, power grids, and satellite and radio communications.
The incident badly disrupted the small electrical and communication lines available at the time; telegraph services worldwide collapsed, with some telegraph operators reporting electric shocks.
According to a June 2013 report by Lloyd's of London and Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) in the United States, losses in the United States could reach $2.6 trillion, or about 15% of the country's annual GDP, if the Carrington case occurred today.
Northern lights should be spectacular should be able to be observed as low as 43 degree northern parrallel.

The light pollution in the city makes it hard to see Venus . Then weather it needs to be crystal clear and the weather pattern places most of us in new England and North of new Hampshire mass line in a cloudy rainy unsettled pattern tonight .
It possible that Saturday the lights can be seen , if you do find the time Vermont would be ideal to view the lights.

Still possible to bow some northern lights,
But you have to travel North of Hartford,

My Dad would take us up to West Hill Lake when we were kids. Go night fishing. Rent these old wooden boats and row out about 100 yards. That lake is spring fed and we knew where all the "holes" were. Trout always like the coldest water. Hook up two coleman lanterns with tinfoil around them and angle the light down into that crystal clear water.
What we were doing was "jacklighting" the trout. They would come up to the surface to check out the lights. We'd throw a few corn kernels into the water along with one on a small hook. They'd slowly sink and the trout would come along and pick them off. To them it looked like the food pellets they feasted on at the fish hatchery. Awesome memories of that lake. Sky was so clear at night when you escape the city lights.

We go down by solon dam . On the kennebec they lowered the rules by allowing bait .
We are on a smelt and troll in the current using a ounce weight to sink the bait in the rips. The method would find an Eddie behind a rock and the weight became an anchor .
The smelt would appear yo swim in the pool allowing 16 to 24 inches from the weight and triple swivel everything so the mono fiman line wouldn't twist and braid....
We allowed a trout or salmon had to be larger than 16 inches. It was easily caught within an hour....

I used to catch brown trout after dark.

On February 3, 2021*, Geospace Model Version 2.0, which is part of the University of Michigan¡¯s Space Weather Modeling Framework, will commence operations in support of customers affected by geomagnetic disturbances. This model replaces version 1.5 which has been in operations since November 2017.
The Geospace Model (SWMF) is a coupled global magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) model of Earth¡¯s Geospace environment that extends from near Earth¡¯s surface to 32 Earth radii toward the Sun on the dayside and 120 Earth radii into Earth¡¯s magnetotail on the nightside. The Geospace Model utilizes three components of the University of Michigan's Space Weather Modeling Framework (SWMF). The model components are a global MHD magnetosphere, the Rice Convection Model for the inner magnetosphere, and the Ridley Ionosphere Model. Model predictions include ground magnetic disturbances resulting from Geospace interactions with the solar wind. Such magnetic disturbances induce a geoelectric field that can drive currents (Geomagnetically Induced Currents or GICs) in large-scale electrical conductors, such as the power grid, and have the potential, during disturbed times, to damage such systems. Short-term advanced warning from the model provides forecasters and power grid operators with situational awareness about harmful currents and allows time to mitigate the problems.
Geospace Geomagnetic Activity Plot, which shows solar wind input to the model as well as predicted Kp and Dst compared to the observed values
Geospace Ground Magnetic Perturbation Maps, which illustrate magnetic perturbations over North America, the polar regions, and the entire Earth
Geospace Magnetosphere Movies, which show model density, velocity, and pressure in equatorial and meridian views in Earth¡¯s magnetosphere

Long story short space wind from the sun disrupts magnetic shielding here. A large enough elect magnetic wave can disrupt all elect magnetic wave systems including heart rhythm within mammals.
So they design where northern lights are brightest and determine stradegy for post trial of effects of the radiation on humans power grids and machinery in general

Modeling Framework (SWMF) developed at the University of Michigan, and the model simulates the full time-dependent 3D Geospace environment (Earth's magnetosphere, ring current and ionosphere) and predicts global space weather parameters such as induced magnetic perturbations in space and on Earth's surface. The current version of the Geospace model uses three coupled components of SWMF: the BATS-R-US global magnetosphere model, the Rice Convection Model (RCM) of the inner magnetosphere, and the Ridley Ionosphere electrodynamics Model (RIM). In the operational mode, SWMF/Geospace runs continually in real-time as long as there is new solar wind data arriving from a satellite at L1, either DSCOVR or ACE. We present an analysis of the overall performance of the Geospace model during the first year of real-time operations. Evaluation metrics include Kp, Dst, as well as regional magnetometer stations. We will also present initial results from new products, such as the AE index, available with the recent upgrade to the Geospace model.

If this event happened proptionately at this star and star began to spegetifi... even for that brief second made would be measuring the atmosphere in terms of what left of it...

"Northern lights should be spectacular should be able to be observed as low as 43 degree northern parallel" I'm sitting on the 42nd Degree Northern Parallel here in Connecticut. Fukked again!!!
I'm above the 45th but i've never seen them when they're suppose to be visible. It feels like the sun is out until 10 O'clock in the summer time though.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

Having problem seeing the northern lights well your not alone attached is a link to when they are near your area.
THE PROBLEM WITH SEEING THE AURORA:
Let's say two months from now the Aurora is flaring up in your area -- the sky is ablaze with greens, violets and reds -- but instead of watching it, you're home sitting on the couch.
Why? Because you simply didn't know about it.
That's one of the problems with seeing the Aurora. It doesn¡¯t run on a schedule. Often Auroras happen with only 30 minutes warning.
That's why it's important to have a partner watching out for it for you. Someone who will watch the Aurora data, then, notify you immediately when the conditions are right for your area.

I'm heading to the Adirondacks as I type ...I've seen the northern lights there numerous times as a kid ...please tell me that Tupper Lake Ny is in the 43rd parallel..
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

Typical idiotuc response you were taught to give, to avoid confronting reality.
I don't care about any of that other crap. Nor have I said I believe it.
You can't prove if we landed on the moon no matter how hard you try.
