They deserve to be in over Indiana and SMU
@Limitlessxp
maybe if the third loss is in the conference championship and even then maybe the stars still need to line up otherwise 3 is too many for me. they also lost 2 of those games at home. also if we play the game of "who they lost to" then we need to look and see who those teams that beat them lost to. well we know they lost to bama on the road by 2, not bad, very close game. and bama lost to a 6-6 vandy team and got killed by a 6-6 oklahoma team.south carolina also lost to lsu at home and lsu lost to a 7-5 florida team. south carolina also lost to ole miss at home, actually got killed 27-3 and ole miss like lsu also lost to that same 7-5 florida team.

Losses are overrated since they expanded the playoffs. Give me the best 12 teams not 12 best record teams. BYU is more deserving than SMU or Indiana. SMU and Indiana are both dogshit.

Missouri got dragged at home by Ole Miss and lost at Bama. They were never going to jump those 2 teams since h2h matchups matter a lot to the committee.
Getting to the conference championship game apparently means a lot too so I dont expect SMU to drop out of the top 12, though Bama at Texas would be THE marquee matchup in the first round of games
Is South Carolina playing great ball right now? Yes. But 3 losses, two to teams they are up against for the final spot, is a tough hurdle to overcome

They can't build marquee matchups because of brand. Bama is out.
South Carolina losses were much better than that of Bama (who lost to 2 6-6 teams) and Ole Miss (who lost at home to Kentucky who only won 1 conference game).
To me Indiana shouldn't be in. They had 1 test and they got steamrolled.

And when the playoffs expand to 14, the wine and cheese club, will complain at that level. Simple solution, schedule quality opponents, win your games and you make the field. If I can figure that out at my age, why can't those much older than I realize it?

You believe Indiana is more deserving? I'm intrigued. Please elaborate because above you said to schedule more quality opponents.
Indiana played 2 teams that finished over .500 this year (Michigan and Ohio State). Beat one by 5 and lost to the other one by 100.
South Carolina played 6 teams that had atleast 8 wins, went 3-3 and also beat the ACC champion.
So who is more deserving?

I would have loved too see this..not sure it's justified though
Over ti.e i'd love to see committee strongly consider a team that has never been in CFP. Ie. Extra weight... Just one possible team though

11-1 big 10 team was always getting in. no matter how many sec teams ppl want to cry about. at least half of the sec is better than indi and smu, but it doesn't matter. smu barely lost acc champ game and indi 11-1 in big 10. they had to put them in. bama is not really capable of winning it all this season imo. haven't watched much south carolina, but they lost to the other teams in the sec they would have had to leapfrog to get in. how could you put them in over bama or miss? the sec is the strongest conference in cfb, and there will be really good sec teams every year that won't get in. get used to it.

I agree that 3 losses is too many and those teams should not be in. The results on the field have to count. If a 3 loss team got in I would argue Ole Miss deserves it more than Alabama or South Carolina. OM beat South Carolina 27-3 (and it wasn't even that close - in Columbia) and beat Georgia 28-10.

'DESERVE'? - no
Top 12 / better than SMU, Indy, Boise, and Zona State - probably so
GTTH - neutral site / you take any of the above straight up over S Caro? - no way in hell
How many of the 12 teams could have done this?
Beat:
OU by 26
A&M by 24
@ Vandy by 21
Mizzou by 4
@ Clemson by 3
@ Kentucky by 25
lost:
@ Bama by 2 - outgained UA by 50+
LSU by 3
Ole Miss by 24 - Rebels off nasty loss to Kentucky
Looking at their resume - they played one bad game (Ole Miss) - two strong but sloppy games vs LSU/Bama - QB Sellers is a much better passer now - power ratings wise (composite) they're probably #12/13 or so. I would put 'em at #10 - just behind NDame, Tenn, Penn State, and Ole Miss- ahead of Miami, Indy, SMU .......

IĄ¯m team South Carolina as well. CanĄ¯t reward teams who donĄ¯t play anyone when South Carolina beat the acc champs on their own field 2 weeks ago
