Hard Rock Stadium will host an AFC East bout between the Miami Dolphins and visiting New York Jets on Sunday, December 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET with the game airing on CBS.
Miami is still chasing a wild-card spot, while New York is looking ahead to next season, and our top Jets vs. Dolphins predictions and same-game parlay NFL picks are calling for Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to lead the way to a Week 14 win.
Jets vs Dolphins same-game parlay for Week 14
- Dolphins -6
- Tua Tagovailoa Over 23.5 pass completions
- De'Von Achane 25+ receiving yards
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is pacing the league in EPA per play while completing 77.3% of his passes for a respectable 7.6 yards per attempt since returning from a concussion in Week 8.
Meanwhile, New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is 22nd in EPA per play with a 63.8 completion percentage and pedestrian 5.9 YPA during the same stretch. The Jets are also 1-4 while allowing 24.6 points per game and the ninth-highest EPA per play.
I expect quarterback play to be the difference, and New York has only covered the number in eight of their past 20 games.
Tagovailoa’s success had led to a pass-happy offense, too. Miami has rushed for only 186 yards — 2.9 per carry — over the past three games, and the offense has thrown on 67.2% of their plays. Tagovailoa has also completed 25 or more passes in five of six games since returning in Week 8.
With New York surrendering the sixth-lowest yards per carry (4.1) and ranking third in run-stop win rate, I expect more of the same from the Miami offense.
Running back De'Von Achane becoming increasingly involved in the passing game has also enabled the Dolphins to lean on the vertical attack, and he’s hauled in 36 of 41 targets since Tagovailoa returned.
Turning to the final leg of this same-game parlay, Achane has recorded 25 or more receiving yards in four of the past six games and seven of 12 for the season. I also expect him to remain the go-to option out of the backfield in the passing game because RB Raheem Mostert is nursing a hip injury, while rookie RB Jaylen Wright has only caught a single pass all season.
Additionally, Achane has also garnered a healthy 16.3% target share and sports a high-end 89.1% catch rate.
