This thread asks you to share something you remember buying during your adult life that was the equal to a one hit wonder in the music industry.
I was in my twenties and remember buying a "Hyper Color T Shirt" that was a plum colored purple shade and when you went out into direct sunlight it turned pink. Thinking back now it was the DUMBEST thing I ever bought, at the time I thought it was the coolest thing I ever bought!
Look forward to reading others comments.

A new Lincoln Town Car. I was still single then and just loved the car. I didnt have it done up like you see some dudes do. It was just a nice regular extremely large vehicle that was quite expensive. I just never needed all the size to it and after a while i noticed only old people and myself seemed to drive the thing. Dating in it was a little akward after a while too.

Diamond stud earrings..... for myself. I was in my very early 20s and doing the cliche rapper/drug dealer thing. The funny thing is I was never that guy. The guy that wears adornments and shit but there was an image to portray.

That's an awesome purchase. I have a 79 but it's a LS-3 swap, which could also be looked at as dumb. I got a good deal on the LS-3 but the swap was still pretty damn expensive.

Those are fucking sick. Knew a guy that had one that was mired in the 70s. No fancy resto but it was still fun to hang out in and do blow. I've seen a few here and there but never realized they had such a following.

I had a 79 Trans Am. The 79 Z-28 also had the 6.6L engine, correct?
No, came stock with a 350. I had a 4-spd, which made it fun to drive & about the only thing I never had a problem with. It was fast but always had electrical problems.

Probably buying a 5yr insurance/extended warranty for a Compaq Presario laptop back in 2006
Laptop cost over 900 and I wanted to get some kind of cover for it and the sales clerk talked me into buying the €360 5yr warranty which covered everything. Paid for the policy over 12 months at 30 a month and never had a problem with the computer once but still looking back

Chose a Beta machine over a VHS machine when it all started. Easily over a grand. 1983 but I'm guessing at that.
The Christmas when they debuted, my parents got me the Sega Saturn instead of the Sony Playstation. The funny part is my dad swore by Sony products but he figured, "What does Sony know about making video games? Sega is a market leader." The next year they got me a playstation. My parents were/are awesome. I'd like to think i've been well worth their efforts. Between my siblings and I, they don't want for shit.

At 18 my dumbass spent $5400 on a 79 cutlass (in the early 90"s) bc the GF liked the sound system and tints .. The system got stolen 3 weeks later , car was a money pit that got junked after 5 months .GF left for a guy with a blazer that had better beats
All that shit reminds me of youth. Cutties. T-type Regals, Rivis. Grand Nationals. Montes. All that shit seemed so fast when you're young and just getting used to driving but compared to cars these days that shit was so sloooooooow.
