In this thread you are asked to list your Mount Rushmore Of Sports...no sport is excluded, the ONLY stipulation is that it's from players you seen play in your lifetime.
Kobe Bryant-This took some thought, I became a Laker fan forty two years ago when they drafted Magic Johnson because after watching him tear up the Big Ten conference each week thanks to NBC's Game Of The Week, I told everyone whoever drafts him, that will be my team...Kobe's ALL around game gives him the edge over Magic...the only weakness in my opinion was Magic was not as good defensively as Kobe was.
Manny Pacquiao-Anyone that can win a championship belt in boxing from EIGHT individual weight classes deserves respect. I can't tell you how many times I was lifted out of my seat watching that left hand just obliterate people...it comes from any direction, and when you see it come from the floor, it's simply "Good Night Irene" Some might scoff that I passed over Muhammad Ali here, I caught him at/near the end of his career and seen Manny Pacquiao fight more often.
Laffit Pincay Jr-This man at one time was the all time winningest jockey in horse racing. Anyone that has followed it knows how good this man was at willing his horse to win, it looked at times like he was carrying the horse across the finish line. Also the personal sacrifices he made just to keep his weight was something the average person could NEVER do. Once he was flying across country to ride for D Wayne Lukas and he opened a peanut and ate one half and saved the other half for later in the flight. Google images of this guy and you won't believe how muscular he was for a guy that is 5'1".
Side Bar-Every time I bet him when I started betting the ponies he'd finish second or better, when I bet against him I'd get burned...I finally figured it out
Brett Farve-My bias shows with this pick being a Packers Fan and it's totally justified...This has been the ONLY quarterback in my generation that I've seen go after someone that intercepted a pass...the other one's just walk to the sideline...plus the countless memories of saying "On no Brett, don't throw it now" turning into saying "What did I just see?" Dude had a straight cannon and if you were not careful you might break something catching a pass from him. His records that he set in the game alone sets him apart from all other quarterbacks...
