1-2 yesterday
North Dakota St +13.5
Playing the sandwich spot for Butler angle here. Coming off the loss to Houston on Saturday, and then get Wisconsin this Saturday, I can certainly see how a team that chucks 3s all day long can stay with the Bulldogs in this one. I'm gonna need a decent percentage of those 3s to go, and Butler to come out sleepy, but I've certainly seen it before.
Charleston/St. Joe Over 151.5
St. Joe is also a team that relies quite a bit on the 3pt shot, but they also share the ball very well, so against this soft Charleston D, they should really get good looks whenever they want. The Hawks also like to run a little bit, and CoC will play into that whenever they get the chance.
Rutgers -3
Biggest game at The Rack so far this year, and the students will show up tonight. It's gonna be a very hostile environment, and Penn St just beat Purdue at home over the weekend, so I'd expect a little regression, especially being their first trip to an opposing gym.
Brown +4.5
Rhode Island coming off their Super Bowl with a win over Providence, and now Brown gets THEIR SB with in state big brother, coming to their place. 9-0 RI team only laying 4.5 vs an Ivy?? Line seems like its telling us what happens in this one. Brown ML probably a live play too.
South Dakota -1
Wyoming is a turnover machine, and going into Vermillion, SD can be tough. These teams haven't met in over a decade, so I'd imagine the atmosphere will be pretty solid. Bad offenses only get worse on the road, and South Dakota, albeit vs lesser competition, is scoring in bunches.
Wisconsin +6.5
Really don't like betting on Big 10 road teams, but I think this spot sucks for ILL. On deck in the number 1 team in the country, and after that is the Bragging Rights game vs Missouri who know looks like a formidable opponent. They just lost to little brother on the road, so it will be interesting to see how the long team responds, especially given what lies ahead. I'll take experience and foul shots to stay within the number, despite the really, really tough environment.
Arkansas/Michigan Over 147.5
Neither team has another meaningful game this calendar year, so being at The Garden, I think we get a show tonight. Both rank in the top 60 as far as length of offensive possessions, and both have plenty of guys who can score. Number almost seems to be a trap, but I'll still try and take the cheese.
California -9.5
Cornell just played @ Army (East Coast) 48 hours ago. Now play in Berkley (West Coast) tonight, and that travel really sucks ass. Cal is coming off a loss to its rival Stanford as well, so need a bounce back tonight. Cornell is a good basketball team, but overcoming that travel is tough, no matter how smart you are.
