England's Jack Catterall gets a chance to go over another former world champion and stake his claim as the best 140-pounder in the world when he faces Regis Prograis.
This fight was previously delayed due to an injury Catterall sustained during training camp. However, it wasn't anything major, and the fight was only pushed out by two months. The extra time isn’t likely to change the outcome.
Catterall is a solid technician with fast hands, evasive footwork, and a style that's hard to pin down. He really should be the undisputed champion at junior welterweight because he was robbed in his first fight with Josh Taylor. Nevertheless, he righted the ship and dominated Taylor in their rematch, capturing a world title.
He’ll be facing a different kind of opponent in Prograis — one who is likely to be exploited by Catterall's style.
Prograis is a former two-time champion who can look like two different fighters depending on how he's approached. If you stay in the pocket and brawl, he demonstrates great hand speed, punch selection, and stopping power.
