After a three-game set last night, bettors get a big board on Tuesday night with 11 games on deck.
There is no way I'm passing up another fade of this Nashville offense. I'm also looking at the Blue Jackets' top power play for a point and getting some extra value with the biggest dogs of the night.
These are three favorite NHL player props for Tuesday, December 10.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets
Prop bet #1: Predators team total Under 2.5
I don’t often get as excited as I am today to fade the Nashville Predators offense. The Preds’ offense has dried up more than a mouth after a bong rip as it has scored three goals over its last three games and has failed to score more than two goals in seven straight games — all losses. They are still without No.1 center, Ryan O’Reilly, and face the Flames who own a Top 10 GAA since November 1 and are one of the best Under teams at 11-17 O/U on the season.
Goalies Dustin Wolf and Dan Vladar aren’t in the best form over the last four games, but their season-long numbers are a better indicator of better play ahead and the Preds are a perfect slump-buster tonight.
There is no wrong way to fade the home side’s offense tonight. You can hit the Under 0.5 points for each player on the top line (Gustav Nyquist, Steve Stamkos, and Filip Forsberg) for +550 or, my favorite, the team total Under 2.5 at +175. The power play is 1-for-19 during the loser streak and I’m fading the Preds’ offense until Ryan O’Reilly at least comes back.
Prop bet #2: Kent Johnson Over 0.5 points
The Columbus Blue Jackets’ power play has a great matchup tonight and the league’s No.2 home offense at 4.25 goals per game could put up some points tonight vs. the Philadelphia Flyers.
Philadelphia has allowed a PP goal in four straight games and has killed just 10 of its last 17 penalties. Flyers coach John Tortorella told reporters after the team’s 4-2 loss to Utah on Sunday that his backend “looked tired” and a lot of that “wear and tear” has come from killing too many penalties.
The Jackets return home after a five-game road trip and are 8-3-1 on home ice with a goal differential per game greater than 1.00. They are 5-for-17 on the PP over their last six home games and Kent Johnson, who has been promoted to the top power play and first line, is the target here for a point at -122.
I’d buy this to -140 before I might try to get creative. Johnson has nine points in his first nine games since returning to the lineup and is coming off a two-goal outing in a 4-1 win vs. the Jets on Sunday. Add his Over 1.5 SOG to bump this to +145 while his Over 2.5 SOG at +165 is also a good look. He has hit 4+ SOG in three of his last five games.
Prop bet #3: Tyler Toffoli Over 0.5 points
The San Jose Sharks are about as big a dog as a team can be coming in at +415 on the moneyline tonight at Carolina. The Sharks aren’t scoring a ton right now but the Hurricanes aren’t playing their best hockey of the season either winning just one of their last five games. Because the visitors are massive road dogs and are paying even money on the +2.5 puck line, their player prop point Overs are paying good prices.
Macklin Celebrini has been moved to a line with Tyler Toffoli who is paying +135 for a point tonight. Both skaters are playing on the top power play while Toffoli has contributed to 50% of the team’s goals over the last three games.
I really thought the Celebrini/Toffoli stack would pay more than +275 in this matchup which is why I’m just taking Toffoli for a point at +135. This can get home even if the Sharks don’t score three goals tonight.
