I disagree...all these players are good enough to play par golf in conditions like these...its their own mental mistakes playing for birdies and ultimately making errors resulting in bogeys and double bogeys...you better believe back in their prime, both Tiger and Phil would be in the final pairing headed into Sunday with scores hovering around even par or -1 after 54 holes...the tour now is full of physically great athletes, but mentally soft golfers...i am really disappointed in the direction of where the state of golf is headed...to me, theres really no appeal to follow or watch it...i wanted to wager on it, but ultimately passed.
The only way golf can remain relevant moving forward is if somehow the PGA rebrands itself as a "betting friendly" sport and really partners up with sportsbooks to make it more sexy to bet on golf every weekend...highly doubt this will ever happen though...a round takes too long and millenials are not going to follow a 5hr wager.

Totally agree with your round 3 assessment Sacker. Guys in the morning are going for the lowest rounds of the tournament, yet in the afternoon the best in the world are struggling to hit a green in regulation. Those greens were just stupid today. That said, What Phil did today was incredibly wrong and I think he should be DQ'ed.
Leaning hard to fade Chappel and play DeMorat +165... Hard to not fade Phil after yesterday's antics but I have zero faith in Rickie caring to finish strongly that far back...
@Covers I think you guys have made it incredibly difficult to navigate and reply on this website... I hope you guys fix it to make it more user friendly.

With two 66s and a 68 posted, there were plenty of opportunities for players to shoot par or better...i could see that from the moon...i dont need to post in any forum year round to offer my opinions...i used to be an avid recreational summer golfer with a 2 handicap and tried several times to qualify for the canadian open in my early 20s (once missing it by 2 strokes) before university and life got in the way....i know golf enough to know these guys on tour are simply nowhere near as mentally tough as players from Tiger and Phil's peak years at the height of golfs popularity in the early 2000s...so what if the course is hard, go out there and shoot pars.

And some will say this week was all set up by the usga itself to create headlines and get people talking about golf again within mainstream sports media...bad publicity is still good publicity.
