MGM Grand Comps for Sportsbook Plays?

Does anyone know if MGM comps for sportsbook plays?

You would need to bet very big probaly minimum of 5k and still the comp will probaly only be a free meal.

No. I've done that and I even had to pay for a beer ($7 + tip).

Thanks for the responses. Was thinking in the 10K range for one day (which is today) I'm off in an hour. Will check the thread when I get there today.

MGM would still call the Mirage for approval on the 10k. The wait for them to call won't necessarily be a short one.

Try to go to the Hilton to place your bets so you can get the most comps and they won't expire until 18 months. They can be used on the food there and entertainment around Vegas.

nah- sportsbooks are the worse for any comps of any sort

GOOD NEWS>>BAD NEWS!!

Bad News,

Just got back, and I want to share some of the experience. First off the sportsbook at the MGM sucked out loud. No comps no matter what you bet. Supervisor was a rude bastard, the freaking horse players drove me up the wall, place is way too small, etc etc. Made my bet and couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Good News,

The casino and the people were outstanding. Was very impressed with the treatment I received from everyone, especially the Casino Floor Supervisor ( Ed Trimbath). Grant you I gave them very good action (fortunately I won playing only Blackjack) and the comps were outstanding.

In talking with Ed about the Sportsbook debacle he fully understood where I was coming from. I couldn't understand the dichotomy within the same property, and then it all made sense when Ed mentioned to me that the Sportsbook was contracted out to another entity.

Thought you would like to know!!!

Forgot to add. Ed comped the few cocktails that the Sportsbook said wouldn't be comped!!

Very true. However, it's still nice to have any comps to put towards entertainment and buffets. I bet weekly in Vegas, so at one casino my comp money covers my food, and at another the casino won't even bother swiping my card when I want to eat at the buffet.

Maybe just food to some people, but when you live in Vegas it helps.

It's no secret about the MGM not comping at the book (sports) and it's the same for all the casinos affiliated with them. They contact the Mirage to approve any bets.

The perks about the Bellagio is that they offer free drinks and liquor. Still no comps!

I wish this was different because I would love to have some comp money at the MGM to put towards entertainment.

If you go to the Las Vegas Hilton you can get free drinks while your betting ticket is live. I was there for the opening weekend of NFL and I was shit faced by the second round of games. Just tip the waitress a dollar or two everytime they bring you a drink and your drink will never be empty.

On your player's card you can use the comps on any food, entertainment, or on anything the Hilton offers. In the lobby at the front desk the Hilton also has other shows and concerts around Vegas I believe you can use the comps on. I have never tried it on shows around Vegas but I have strongly considered it.

The players card and comps are separated from the tables. You must ask the sports book about your comps. They last 18 months compared to other places (The Palms) that expire if you go inactive.

I have used mine on the Buffet, treating family or friends that come into town, and the Deli at the book.

I've never asked about being comped rooms there but I doubt it would be an issue.
