After years of waiting, missed plans, final exams - Finally we are getting a crew of SEVEN for Vegas this decemeber!
ONE Problem. We have one guy in the group who is 20 and really, really wants in. All of us are either 21 or 22 and obviously aren't going to cancel this trip because of one guy. What is the ID policy in Vegas - do they card in the casino, at the clubs, in the restaurants? What I am asking is it worth it for this guy to come or should he stay home? Anyone have experiences with this?

I was 22 at the time when I went, and only was carded when I went to the club. Also when I was at the bar they would generally ask. But as far as getting into casinos...I didn't seem to have a problem. And once you're in, just play and drink. Although I remember getting carded at the tables here and there...and when I ordered my first drink at TI playing, I was asked for my ID. There's plenty of casinos to try and get into...just find one that doesn't have very strict security.
Just get a Nick Pappagorgio ID and you'll be fine

I see 20somethings getting carded all the time at the tables... I don't go to the clubs, it cuts into my gambling time. Get a good fake ID and see how it goes, if your buddy doesn't get in... oh well, tell him to go pick up some box on the street, there's plenty of it.

should be able to move around the casinos and sportsbooks and various places with no prob- in and out of the clubs and nitespots could prove to be problematic - get your trip started right , take ECU - Houston UNDER (70 ) this weekend, and have fun in Vegas

Clubs/Bars/Tables = No way your friend is able make it happen there. Especially the nightclubs. Those bouncers dont even want males that are over 21 in there. Super strict.
The only time he'll be having any fun is cruzin around the strip with cocktails or whatever. Might be able to drink and hang in the sportsbooks, but prob wont be able to order anything and might get the boot after a while.
I'm 25 and have gone to Vegas 3 or 4 times per year since I turned 21. I consistently get carded everywhere. I'd tell your buddy to either stay home or have one more person come that's also under 21 so they can hang together during the majority "21 and over" parts of the trip.

Thanks for all the feedback - ive relayed the info to him, but predictably he doesn't care. He says hes coming no matter what, and we told him were not sacrificing anything because of him. T-Minus 20 days, CANT WAIT

When you guys hit the clubs at night, just tell yuor buddy to wonder the strip and recruit chicks to party back at the hotel late night - in case things dont work out at the club! That's my suggestion cuz he WILL be stranded.
Have fun!

You got carded for the first time in 9 years? What had you been doing previous to that? Rollercoasters and buffets?
Yea, being in a big group will def bring attention and not help the situation. But dont think that it's even possible for one sec that your buddy will have a chance at not getting carded at clubs or tables - not gunna happen. Especially on-strip, especially in a group, especially all males, especially in 2009!

This pretty much sums it up exactly.
But, like you said, if you're friend insists on coming, make it very clear that you guys will not be sacrificing anything for him no matter what.
There will be times he'll be shut out and will have to find something to do without you guys. Also, there might be times when you think he might be shut out be he won't, that'll definitely happen as well.
